The hosts of the Guardians of the Republic podcast come from very different backgrounds but were drawn together by a shared sense of purpose about the future of our nation.
Ian Kahn is a professional actor with a wide ranging career on the stage and screen, but is probably best known for his portrayal of General George Washington in the AMC series Turn: Washington’s Spies (available on Netflix). Ian spent four years immersed in the American Revolution, always being guided by the question, “What would Washington do?” This experience inspired him to take a break from his acting career to engage in the battle for the soul and fabric of the country – and like General Washington, to be a guardian of the Republic in challenging times. Ian lives with his family in New York.
Patrick Murray is the director of the Monmouth University Poll, one of the most respected independent polling organizations in the country. His professional mission is to ensure that the voice of the public is heard by those in power. Patrick has also been active in making sure the lessons of the struggle for American Independence remain relevant to people today, including devoting many years as chair of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area. Patrick lives with his family in New Jersey where every day he passes at least one place with a connection to luminaries such as Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, and Adams that was integral to the Revolutionary War.
